Layering? Not just a winter affair!

Layering! Its one of the best fashion hacks to make any outfit more volume and drama. Now what is layering basically? Layering clothes basically mean a way of dressing using many garments that are worn on top of each other. Yes, winters! That is what comes to our mind after reading this. Winters are the best time to play with layers and those leather jackets and biker jackets, with scarves and boots! But what most of us fail to see is that layering is not just a winter element. With the right kind of fabric, color and texture, layering can we pro-ed in summer as well. So I have come up with 3 different types of layering looks for the summer which can be fused with dress or denim. Some of these looks are from my past blog posts which now I am clubbing it together for a better understanding.

LOOK 1:
"the safe one"

Summers are all about comfort and easy breezy clothes. Look 1 is all about that. Here I have clubbed a semi opaque shrug with basic black camisole and high waist denim. This is the safest way to play with layers, everything is subtle yet the shrug just adds to the oomph and drama., Imagine this look without this shrug. Nay! The shoulder detailing gives this Desi Charm shrug a more stylish finish.

Black camisole: Amazon (buy here); High waist denim:
 B.K. Market, Kolkata (buy similar here); Shrug: Desi Charm (buy here and here)
Footwear: B.K. Market; Neck-piece: Manipuri tribal jewellery

The trick behind this look is to take a very light weight fabric as your layering cloth, which is summer friendly and yet stylish at the same time. The fabric will keep you cool and the shrug will add the volume you require in your look.

LOOK 2:
"the lace cover-ups"

Cape/Shrug: Desi Charm (buy here and here); White Camisole: Jabong (buy here);
Shorts: All About You By Deepika Padukone (buy here); Heels: Forever 21 (buy here);
Sunglases: Rayban (buy here and here); Earrings: Jewel Quest (buy here)

This is my favorite look among all the three. Lace and translucent fabrics are yet another choice in summer wear. For this look I have taken a white sheer lace cape which I have combined with hot pants and basic camisole. White is "THE" color of summer and the sheerness makes it a comfy wear for the summers. You can club this kind of capes with dresses as well.

LOOK 3:
"go sleeveless"

Shrug: Coutloot (buy here); Camisole: Amazon (buy here);
Jeans: B.K. Market, Kolkata (buy similar here)

This is kind off an obvious choice. Sleeveless outfits are our go to choice for summer wear. Here I have taken this indo-western shrug and clubbed it the same way as LOOK 1, with the same high waist denim and black camisole. The shrug in itself is quite quirky and is lifting up the whole look. You can go with any other kind off sleeveless cape or shrug. With these kind of loud shrugs one needs to keep the rest of the outfit very subtle and low, coz the attention grabber is your jacket. You can buy this same shrug from CoutLoot. Also you can know the whole DIY behind this shrug at http://www.thechicgazette.com/2016/12/diy-multiple-random-stitched-fabric.html.

Personally I love layering. It is not a very high fashion-end hack and even the least of all fashionable beauties can pull any of these looks. Every girl needs to have basic layering essentials in their wardrobe. And the best part about layering is it never looks the same, one needs to just change the bottom or basic outfit details and the look changes to a whole new perspective. I hope this post inspires you all to pull a layering look in summer as well.

Keep it chic!
